The Haifa Interdisciplinary Unit for Polish Studies (HIUPS) and the Institute of Jewish Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow are delighted to invite graduate students and scholars to a four-day intensive workshop at the University of Haifa. This immersive program is designed to foster in-depth interdisciplinary research into the historical and cultural complexities of Jewish Galicia. The workshop will feature a diverse array of session types, thoughtfully organized into seven distinct thematic modules, providing a comprehensive exploration of Jewish life in this historical region.
The workshop is officially recognized as an intensive academic course (4 credit hours) within the University of Haifa's curriculum. To facilitate deeper engagement and preparation, the program will include three mandatory monthly preparatory meetings conducted via Zoom (18:00-21:00) prior to the main workshop (20/11/25, 11/12/25, and 08/01/26). For students requiring academic credit, a comprehensive written assignment will be required upon completion of the workshop, reflecting their engagement with the material and their research insights.
