Dear Students,
Welcome to the Campus in Wildlife Conflict Management course!
I’m Dr. Motti Charter, and I’m excited to guide you through this unique and immersive learning experience. In this course, we’ll explore real-world wildlife conflicts in Israel and examine how science, conservation, and agriculture intersect to create both challenges and opportunities.
The course includes four evening meetings at the University of Haifa and one two-day field trip to Agamon HaHula and the Golan Heights. Attendance at all meetings and the field trip is mandatory—this is a hands-on course, and your active participation is essential.
Together, we’ll meet experts, visit field sites, and engage in practical activities such as building nest boxes, analyzing owl pellets, and learning how drones are used in wildlife monitoring. You’ll also develop a research proposal offering a new solution to a wildlife conflict in Israel.
I look forward to seeing you soon and working together to better understand and manage the complex relationships between humans and wildlife.
Warm regards,
Dr. Motti Charter
